Dazzling Desserts is a girl-friendly version of our signature fundraising event, Dessert First. Experience a sampling of delicious desserts using Girl Scout Cookies as the main ingredient!
Dress up and enjoy a fun-filled luncheon with entertainment, drawings and decorate your own apron and chef hat to take home.

Get Creative! As part of our event, Dazzling Desserts, GSNEO will be holding a competition for Dazzling Dessert Designs! Dazzling Dessert Designs must be delivered to the Embassy Suites between 9:30 and 10:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Judging will take place during the Dazzling Desserts event held the same day. For tickets to Dazzling Desserts, please visit gsneo.org and click on “special events.”
Prizes and Awards
Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges. First and second place prizes will be given in each age category. Judges will be given guidelines around overall appearance, originality & creativity, and difficulty. Additional awards will be given across all age categories including Best use of Girl Scout Cookies, Best Use of Theme, Most Original Structure, Judges Choice, and People’s Choice. Please remember that judging is subjective. If the design does not meet size and construction guidelines, it will not be eligible for an award.
1 lb powdered sugar
3TB meringue powder
½ tsp cream of tarter
3-1/2 ox of water (slightly less than ½ cup)
Beat until icing forms stiff peaks and will hold a sharp line when knife is drawn through.
Keep covered with a damp cloth to keep icing from drying out. Work with a small amount of icing at a time. Store unused icing in a tightly sealed container.
*Note: Meringue powder can be found at cake decorating or craft stores.
